You sort out the dress months ahead. Then it is November, the event is black tie, it is 24 degrees outside, and the only thing you own that fits over a gown is a parka.
This is the gap outerwear rental fills. A proper evening coat or wool cape gets worn for the twenty minutes between the car and the coat check, and in every photograph taken at the door. Buying one for that is difficult to justify. Renting one for $15 to $95 is not.

About the Fur
Every fur here is second-hand and was donated by the person who owned it. We do not buy fur and nothing is made for us. A coat that already exists is going to exist whether or not anyone wears it, and the argument for letting it keep working is the same argument as the rest of this catalog: the piece was already made, so use it.
If renting fur is not for you, that is a reasonable position and the collection has plenty of wool, cashmere-blend and brocade that is not fur. Filter by what you want or ask us on the form.
What to Wear Over a Gown
Floor-length gown
A full-length coat or a cape. A hip-length jacket cuts the line in exactly the wrong place and shows in every photo.
Cocktail or midi dress
A tailored coat that ends near the hem, or deliberately shorter. Halfway is the only length that reads as an accident.
Strapless or thin straps
A cape or a wrap, which go on and off without fighting the neckline. Sleeves and strapless are a wrestling match at the coat check.
Suit or tuxedo

Seasonal Note
Outerwear is the one category with a hard season. Gala season, holiday parties and New Year's run from roughly October through January, and the good coats go first. If your event is in that window, ask early rather than in the week of. Everything here is one of one, because it was all donated.

Can I rent a fur coat?
Yes. All fur in the collection is second-hand and donated; none is purchased new. Pieces are inspected and cleaned between rentals.
How long is the rental?
Two weeks from the day it is delivered, with free shipping both ways. Longer holds can be arranged.
What if it doesn't fit over my dress?
Tell us the dress silhouette on the form and we will match the coat to it. Outerwear sizing is more forgiving than dress sizing, but capes and wraps are the safest choice over a structured or strapless gown.
