A Pop-Up Fashion Museum · Summer Weekend · Milwaukee

That outfit your client wore once?
Let's hang it on a wall.

FashionablyGood is curating a weekend pop-up of culturally notable fashion. A music-video look. A tour fit. A film costume. A viral outfit. The dress from the meme. We work directly with you (publicist, manager, designer, archivist) to turn one donation into a charity moment, a press story, and (when it makes sense) a limited co-designed merch drop.

501(c)(3) nonprofit · Editorial approval before publication · 100% of profits → charity

Iconic doesn't have to mean red carpet at Cannes. The dress from the bridge of the music video. The jacket in the tour intro. The sweatshirt that became a meme. The fit from a viral TikTok. Whatever piece has lived in the cultural memory for a beat. We want to put it behind glass for a weekend, photograph it beautifully, tell the story of why it mattered, and rent it forever after to fund charity.

Your client looks generous and tasteful. Their fans get a moment. We get to keep doing the work. Win-win-win-win.

What your client gets

01

A press-ready story

We co-write the narrative with you: origin of the piece, why it matters, where the donation goes. You get a press kit, hi-res install photography, and shareable social cuts. You approve every line of copy and every photo before anything goes public.

02

A real tax deduction

FashionablyGood is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Your client gets an itemized donation receipt and value-guide reference data based on comparable resale sales. Donations over $5,000 require an independent qualified appraisal, and we'll refer you to specialists.

03

An optional merch collab

For pieces with a passionate fanbase, we'll co-design a limited-edition hoodie or tee with your client: their lyric, their signature, their visual. We handle production. They split charity proceeds with the cause of their choice. Fans get something rare. Everyone looks good.

04

A long tail

After the pop-up closes, the piece becomes part of our permanent rental catalog, generating ongoing charitable revenue every time someone rents it for a gala, a wedding, a content shoot. Your client's outfit keeps doing good. We tag every rental story back to the donor.

The kind of pieces we're after

It doesn't have to be Met-Gala-iconic. It just needs a story.

Music video looks Tour wardrobe Award-show outfits Film & TV costumes (with studio approval) Late-night appearances Viral / meme moments Influencer & creator content fits Music festival sets Album cover wardrobe Designer archive pieces Custom pieces by emerging designers Anything with a screenshot people remember

"If a fan would recognize it from a still, it's the kind of piece that earns its spot on the wall."

How it works

1

You pitch us

Tell us about the piece, the moment, and the client. We respond within 48 hours with a yes / no / tell-me-more, and a one-page proposal if it's a fit.

2

We co-build the story

We work with your team on the narrative, the install concept, optional merch collab terms, press timing, and editorial approvals. Nothing goes public without your sign-off.

3

You ship the piece

We send a free insured prepaid mailer (or arrange courier for high-value pieces). Your client signs the donation paperwork; we handle the rest. Your client gets the IRS-compliant 501(c)(3) receipt within two weeks.

4

The exhibit opens

We curate the install, photograph it editorially, write the wall copy together, and host a free-entry weekend in Milwaukee. Visitors who donate fashion or cash get in. We deliver a finished press kit and social assets the day before opening.

5

The piece lives on

After the pop-up, the piece joins our rental catalog with a permanent product page crediting your client. Every rental funds charity. We share rental stories and milestones back with you over time.

Optional · For Pieces with a Passionate Fanbase

The Co-Designed Hoodie

When the donor is someone whose fans would actually want merch tied to the moment, we offer a limited-edition co-designed drop, usually a hoodie or tee. Your client picks the visual hook (a lyric, a graphic, a signature, a date). We design with them, handle production, and route proceeds to a charity of their choice.

  • Limited run. 100–500 units, numbered, never restocked. Scarcity = signal.
  • Co-designed. Your client (or their creative team) approves every detail. We can match an existing aesthetic, or push the artist to try something they haven't.
  • Charity-routed. Net proceeds go to a 501(c)(3) cause your client picks. We handle the operational side; they get the photo op.
  • Press-ready. Drop coordinated with the museum opening for maximum cycle. Or held for an album rollout / tour announcement / brand birthday.

For mid- and high-tier collabs only. We don't do this for every piece. It has to make sense for everyone.

What "makes sense" looks like

  • Artist with engaged fan community (any genre, any size if the engagement is real)
  • Costume / piece tied to a memorable cultural moment
  • Designer with a story to tell beyond a runway
  • Creator whose audience would buy something signed
  • Anyone treating fashion as part of their craft, not just dressing for events

The questions you'd reasonably ask

Does the piece have to be donated, or can it be loaned?

Donation is the default. It's how the tax deduction works and how the piece can keep generating charity revenue afterward. That said, we'll consider loan-only arrangements for archival or studio-owned pieces, or for clients with strong personal attachment. Tell us in the pitch and we'll work it out case by case.

Who controls the narrative?

You do. We don't publish anything (wall copy, press release, social posts, photography) without your sign-off. We're a curatorial partner, not a press desk operating around you.

What if my client wants the piece back later?

We'll structure as a loan in that case (see above). For straight donations, ownership transfers to the 501(c)(3) and we can't return it. That's an IRS requirement, not a policy we'd choose. We'll always be honest about which path makes sense for your client's situation before you ship anything.

How do I value the piece for tax purposes?

Per IRS rules, the donor (your client) determines fair market value when filing. We provide an itemized 501(c)(3) receipt and comparable-sales data from the resale market to support a reasonable estimate. For donations over $5,000, the IRS requires an independent qualified appraisal from a credentialed appraiser. We don't provide those, but we'll refer you to specialists. Our documentation guide walks through it in plain English.

What's the typical timeline?

4 to 6 weeks from "yes" to opening night is a comfortable runway. We can move faster for press-tied moments. Tell us your timeline in the pitch and we'll be straight about whether we can hit it.

What's in it for FashionablyGood?

We're a small nonprofit. Notable pieces give us press, foot traffic to the pop-up, and rental revenue afterward. All of which fund the cause. We're upfront about that. We're not promising your client a Met-Gala-level moment; we're promising a real, well-executed exhibit and a story we'll work hard to make them proud of.

Is this only for big names?

No. We'll happily exhibit a custom piece by an emerging designer, a vintage costume from a midsize tour, an outfit tied to a creator with a passionate sub-100K fanbase. The bar is "the story is interesting", not follower count.

Where is the pop-up?

Milwaukee for the first edition (we're based here at 2946 N Summit Ave). We're talking with venues now. If this works, future editions could travel. We're open to partner cities.
